HIGHLANDS, NJ, July 14 - Three catastrophic fires have raged in Sixth Congressional District
municipalities over the last 6 weeks, leaving more than 200 people homeless. Sixth District

families by making donations of food, baby supplies, clothing, and financial contributions.

that consumed several homes on Cortland Street in Perth Amboy, leaving 52 homeless and
injuring nine, including a family of three who were hospitalized with second- and third-degree
burns.

On Thursday, July 5, a five-alarm fire occurred at 485 State Street in Perth Amboy, displacing

Then, on Wednesday, July 10, another devastating fire occurred at the Woodbridge Village
apartments in the Avenel section of Woodbridge. The fire destroyed fifty apartments, leaving
another 100 people homeless. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries.
