LITTLE ENDORSES ACTION FOR PEDIATRIC BRAIN INJURY
Sarah Jane and Friends Endorse Anna Little
(HIGHLANDS, September 30) - Republican congressional challenger Anna Little -- endorsing legislation recognizing Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury as the leading cause of death and disability for children and young adults, and endorsing the National Acquired Brain Injury Plan, which her opponent, 22-year incumbent Democrat Frank Pallone, has been blocking from an up-or-down vote in the Congress - today challenged Pallone to move the legislation out of his Energy and Commerce Committee Health Subcommittee.
At a press conference at Anna Little for Congress headquarters, Sarah Jane Donohue - the five-year-old namesake of The Sarah Jane Brain Foundation - announced her enthusiastic support for Anna Little for Congress. Several of Sarah Jane's friends, also stricken with brain injuries, also announced their support for Little.
"Frank Pallone is wrong to hold up the most broad-based, bipartisan healthcare initiative of this entire Congress," said Little. "As Chairman of the Health Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee, he has the power to move this legislation. More than a hundred Members of Congress of both parties have already co-sponsored this legislation, and yet it's been sitting in his subcommittee for a year."
"He has the audacity to speak about healthcare reform, when he is personally blocking a national political consensus dealing with the number one leading cause of death and disability for our children and young adults - brain injury. I support H. Con. Res. 198, and as a Member of Congress next year, I look forward to working with families and professionals who deal with pediatric acquired brain injury to better prevent, identify and treat this disease."
"The Brain Injury Association of New Jersey enthusiastically supports H. Con. Res. 198," says Barbara Geiger-Parker, President and CEO of the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey. "We hope Congress passes this measure as soon as possible." The Brain Injury Association of New Jersey is the Sarah Jane Brain Project's State Lead Center of Excellence for New Jersey, and it was involved in the development of the National Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury Plan (PABI Plan).
Patrick Donohue, father of Sarah Jane Donohue - a five-year-old victim of traumatic brain injury suffered when she was violently shaken by her nurse when she was just a baby - said, "It is pretty clear Congressman Frank Pallone either doesn't care about kids with brain injuries, or he is so arrogant he thinks he knows better than the leading experts in the country. That's why I support Anna Little and I encourage all of my friends and family to do the same."
Jennipher Dickens - mother of four-year-old Christopher Daughtrey, who, like Sarah Jane Donohue, is a victim of traumatic brain injury suffered as a result of abuse - joined Donohue in endorsing Little over Pallone. "Frank Pallone has had a year to move this important legislation, and he's failed to do so. That's just wrong."
Craig Stevens - a survivor of a brain injury caused by a motor vehicle crash when he was but 20 years old - also endorsed Little. "Frank Pallone should be ashamed of himself! As a survivor of a brain injury myself, I wish there had been a National Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury Plan in place when my injury occurred. If there had been such a plan in place, my life and my family's lives would be completely different today. We need people like Anna Little who actually listen and act as opposed to merely acting like they are listening. That's why I support Anna Little!"
"It is time to hold our politicians accountable and that is what we are doing today," said Kim Illions, mother of four-year-old Cole Illions, who suffers from pediatric hydrocephalus. "On behalf of my son, Cole, and on behalf of the many families in the sixth congressional district of New Jersey who have a child with a brain injury, we support Anna Little!" Kim Illions is the President of the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation. Their family resides in Iselin, New Jersey.

LITTLE: PALLONE CAST DECIDING VOTE TO ADJOURN BEFORE ACTING TO PREVENT MASSIVE TAX HIKE
(HIGHLANDS, September 29) - Republican congressional challenger Anna Little - responding to today's House vote to adjourn Congress before holding a vote to enact legislation blocking planned tax hikes - this afternoon sharply criticized her opponent, 22-year incumbent Rep. Frank Pallone, for casting the deciding vote to adjourn Congress before acting to prevent a massive tax hike.
"Today, Frank Pallone showed why it's time for him to leave Congress," said Little. "With an economy in the ruts, he cast the deciding vote to adjourn the Congress before even holding a vote on whether or not to block a massive tax hike. His deciding vote will lead to continued uncertainty about what's to come for our nation's job creators, and will make job creation that much more difficult in the weeks and months to come.
"If Frank Pallone was half as concerned about his constituents' jobs as he is about his own," said Little, "we'd all be in better shape.
"Fifteen million Americans are looking for work, and they were looking to the Congress to block a massive tax hike scheduled to go into effect on New Year's Day. Our unemployed friends and neighbors are smart enough to know that raising taxes on small businesses and entrepreneurs is the wrong thing to do when it comes to creating the conditions for economic growth.
"There were 39 Democrats who crossed party lines to create a bipartisan coalition supporting no adjournment before voting to block the scheduled tax hikes. Sadly, our Congressman was not one of them.
"Instead, the liberal Democrats now running the Congress jammed through a resolution of adjournment by a one-vote margin - and that vote was Frank Pallone's.
"The simple fact is, you cannot change Washington without changing the PEOPLE in Washington.
"The good news is, there's an election in 34 days. And then the people will have a chance to make the change we need!"

(HIGHLANDS, September 29) - Republican congressional challenger Anna Little - responding to continued failure by the Congress to enact legislation blocking planned tax hikes - today reiterated her commitment to maintaining current tax rates for all taxpayers and preventing the massive tax hike scheduled to take place on New Year's Day.
"Another day, another 24 hours of uncertainty on taxes," said Little. "Meanwhile, the clock counts down to the biggest tax hike in American history - something that will take our sluggish economy further downhill - and Congress is more concerned about the jobs of its own Members than it is with helping create an environment in which jobs can be created for the 15 million Americans now looking for work.
"This Congress has passed a $814 billion 'stimulus package' that didn't stimulate much; passed a trillion-dollar healthcare package that reduces patient choice, cuts Medicare by $500 billion, increases insurance premiums, and imposes for the first time ever a mandate that every American purchase a product in the private market place or be fined by 16,000 new IRS agents; and passed a so-called 'Wall Street Reform' package that institutionalizes 'Too Big To Fail.'
"Meanwhile, this Congress has - for the first time since the enactment of the Budget Act of 1974 - failed to pass a budget for the Federal Government. And now it's preparing to adjourn without passing legislation to block a massive tax increase.
"In other words, this Congress has succeeded in doing things it SHOULDN'T have done, and has failed to do the things it SHOULD have done.
"But that's par for the course in the Alice in Wonderland world that is Washington today.
"The simple fact is, you cannot change Washington without changing the PEOPLE in Washington.
"The good news is, there's an election in 34 days. And then the people will have a chance to make their voice heard!"

Congressional Inaction on Tax Rates is Irresponsible

LITTLE: CONGRESSIONAL INACTION ON TAX RATES IS IRRESPONSIBLE
(HIGHLANDS, September 28) - Republican congressional challenger Anna Little - responding to further news reports indicating that Congress will likely recess without first holding a vote on whether or not to extend the current tax rates - today urged voters in New Jersey's 6th Congressional District to hold her opponent, 22-year liberal incumbent Frank Pallone, accountable.
"Congress is being run by an irresponsible majority right now," said Little. "There's just no other way to say it. And Frank Pallone is a huge part of the problem.
"This year, for the first time since the Budget Act was passed in 1974, Congress didn't even pass a budget," continued Little. "And now, it appears the liberals who run the Congress are planning to go home to campaign before they pass a bill to extend the current tax rates."
"If they don't pass a bill to extend the current tax rates, New Year's Day is going to bring with it the biggest tax hike in American history - all because the liberals who run the Congress are more concerned with keeping their own jobs than they are with helping their constituents create jobs for themselves and their communities."
"I cannot think of anything that would be more irresponsible," said Little. "Yet, shockingly, that appears to be precisely what they're going to do."
"The ability to hold our elected leaders accountable with regularly scheduled elections is one of the hallmarks of American democracy," Little continued. "But that only works if our elected leaders actually vote BEFORE the elections on crucial issues. By waiting until after the election to engage in significant legislative action, our elected leaders are in essence hiding from the public. That's just wrong, and it's just one more reason we need to change Washington."
"But the simple fact is, you cannot change Washington without changing the people in Washington."
"The good news is, there's an election in 35 days. And then the people will have a chance to make their voice heard!"

NJ06 GOP Congressional Candidate Little Praises House Republican "Pledge To America"

(HIGHLANDS, September 24) - Republican congressional challenger Anna Little - responding to the release yesterday of House Republicans' "Pledge to America" - today praised the document as a "governing agenda that will take power away from Washington and put it back in the hands of the people, where it belongs."
"For too long, too many decisions have been made in Washington by political elites who don't seem to care what the American people think," said Little. "Every decision that's made in Washington is a decision that's not made by individual American citizens - and when you add to that the fact that Washington elites don't seem to be paying attention to what the country wants, you just make the problem worse. That's not what our Founders wanted for us, and that's why the 'Pledge to America' is not just a governing agenda that will take power away from Washington and put it back in the hands of the people, where it belongs, it's a modern-day restatement of the principles on which our nation was established.
"It's not surprising, when you stop to consider that the 'Pledge to America' was created by actually listening to the people," Little continued, "and therein lies its strength. The agenda laid out in the Pledge is an agenda that will respond to America's demand for lower taxes, spending cuts, and reforming the way Washington works.
"If Washington elites - like my opponent, Frank Pallone - would spend more time listening to the people than to each other, they'd be a lot better off. And if they actually had faith in the American people, we'd all be a lot better off.
"Our campaign has garnered national attention because of our ability to mobilize grass-roots volunteers. And when the reporters ask what's our 'secret' for getting them to come out and do the hard work, I explain very simply that there's really no secret at all - people everywhere will help if you just listen to them, and respond to their needs. They're coming out to help our campaign because they know that in doing so, they're actually helping build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
"The simple fact is, you cannot change Washington without changing the people in Washington.
"The good news is, there's an election in 39 days. And then the people will have a chance to make their voice heard!"

NRCC Announces New 'On the Radar' and 'Contender' Candidates
23 Republican Candidates Take Steps Toward 'Young Gun' Status
Washington- The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) today announced its newest round of 'On the Radar' and 'Contender' candidates. By reaching the first and second step of the three-step 'Young Guns' program, these Republican candidates have reached the fundamental benchmarks to place them on the road to victory. Now, these 23 candidates are ready to take on the Democrat establishment and return fiscal sanity to Washington.
"These candidates have worked hard to meet the benchmarks that have been laid out before them and are determined to hold Washington Democrats accountable this November," said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX). "Middle-class families are tired of watching the Democrat majority spend this country deeper into recession while they have been forced to tighten their belts. With Americans desperate for change, these 23 candidates are determined to reign in reckless spending, cut taxes and return the economy back to a state of vitality."
Originally founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Paul Ryan (R-WI) as a member-driven organization, the Young Guns program has become an official NRCC effort dedicated to electing open-seat and challenger candidates nationwide. Reps. Cantor, McCarthy and Ryan remain actively involved in the Young Guns program, working together to recruit and prime conservative leaders for victory.
After reaching the first and second step of the three-step program, these 'On the Radar' and 'Contender' candidates now face a new set of rigorous benchmarks that will continue to help them build competitive, effective and winning campaigns.

Pallone's "Recovery" Dies Amidst Rising Unemployment; Candidate Anna Little slams Pallone and Pelosi for the 54,000 jobs lost in August

Pallone's "Recovery" Dies Amidst Rising Unemployment
Candidate Anna Little slams Pallone and Pelosi for the 54,000 jobs lost in August
Highlands, NJ- Pallone and Pelosi have whipped up a toxic mixture of reckless spending, "Bureaucrats-Gone-Wild" regulation, and top-down economic control -- and breaking economic news reveals just how deadly it has been for our economy.
The US Labor Department announced Friday that the nation's unemployment rate has once again begun to climb; it currently stands at 9.6 percent, 48 percent higher than its level when President Barack Obama was elected in November 2008.

Candidate Anna Little believes that it is time for Frank Pallone and Nancy Pelosi to take responsibility for the economic mess that they have made. "By excessive borrowing, taxing, spending, and regulating, progressives are doing precisely the opposite of what we should be doing to allow our economy to thrive and produce jobs," Little said. "They need to get out of the way of the private sector economy."
Frank Pallone and Nancy Pelosi, however, don't seem to be getting the message. They have supported calling the latest economic news -- a net monthly loss of 54,000 jobs -- "positive news." Little, however, understands what the people in Congressional District 6 are thinking: Who in their right mind sees the loss of thousands of jobs as positive?
Even worse, there are hints to the media that they are planning a "Stimulus II." Reports and op-eds in the New York Times, the Christian Science Monitor, and other liberal media organizations suggest that it will contain direct aid to states, a disastrous and expensive policy eliminated decades ago -- as well as massive investments in public works, a tried-and-failed strategy that discouraged private investment and prolonged the Great Depression.

Like a medieval doctor bleeding his patient, Progressives insist that the right treatment is more government, more leeches. "It is working as intended," The Times opined Saturday.
"It is time that America wakes up to the progressives' perverse intentions," Little said. "If we allow them, they will destroy our prosperity, our way of life, and what makes our country great."

Anna's Army blankets Hazlet
5,000 houses and beyond...
Highlands, NJ - Destroying their previous daily record of 3,000 houses, volunteers for the Republican candidate for Congress in NJ6, Anna Little, canvassed Hazlet this past Saturday and knocked on more than 5,500 doors in a single day. The number of attendees at Little's rally before the walk has mushroomed to more than 125. Little's rally festivities included a duet of "God Bless America" and the debut of "Anna 3".
Taking on 22-year incumbent Democrat Frank Pallone for the people's 6th District House seat, Anna Little is vying to become the only female in New Jersey's all-male Congressional delegation.
Anna's ground assault will rest this weekend in honor of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. They will reconvene in Old Bridge on September 18th. Details to follow.

Hurricane Anna Makes Landfall in Hazlet this Saturday 9/4/10
Highlands, NJ - Another weekend, another 3,000 voters met. In a ground game that has, through six weeks, personally contacted more than 25,000 voters in the 6th District, Anna's Army takes on their first real challenge when they descend on Hazlet, NJ this Saturday, September 4th at the Red Oak Diner on Rt. 35. It must also be noted that Anna's interview with CNN's Soledad O'Brien attracted well over 100 supporters to Ocean Grove, NJ on Monday morning.
Tireless and dedicated volunteers will attempt the massive feat of contacting almost 6,000 voters to spread Anna's message of less spending, less costly and job-killing regulation, lower taxes and genuinely smaller government. If their unprecedented performance thus far is any indication, Anna's Army is up to the challenge.
Taking on 22-year incumbent Democrat Frank Pallone for the people's 6th District House seat, the Republican nominee for Congress Anna Little is vying to become the only female in New Jersey's all-male Congressional delegation.
Anna and her rapidly expanding army of volunteers will rally at the Red Oak Diner, 2973 Rt. 35 North in Hazlet, NJ on Saturday, September 4th. Members of the press are cordially invited to this historic campaign and all members of the public are welcome. Anna Little will be in attendance and will address the rally between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.
