FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

U.S. Congressional Candidate Anna C. Little issues statement on National Day of Prayer Thankful for our Constitutional Right to the Freedom of Religion and Prayer.

New Jersey is incredibly blessed and privileged as the only state in the U. S. A. to have a law honoring the First Thursday in May as a Day of Prayer! New Jersey Statute 36:2-34, titled "'A Day of Prayer in New Jersey' designated," states that "the first Thursday in May each year is designated as 'A Day of Prayer in New Jersey' and the citizens of New Jersey are urged to observe the day in ways appropriate to its importance and significance." L.1994,c.44.

In order to do good work we must possess a pure purpose and a pure heart. We must hold God at our center if we are to keep our methods pure. As Americans we hold fast to the values instilled in us by our families and our religious beliefs. At this time of crisis when Religious Liberty is threatened by our government it is more important than ever to reinforce the need for prayer to keep us close to God and follow His guidance.

Let this be our prayer: O Lord, fill us with your grace, and grant us wisdom and courage as we work to bring your people closer to you. May our work be your work and our will be your will as we walk your path and strive to follow your ways. Help us to elect true representatives who understand that government must provide freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. Protect our military in harm's way, and secure their safe return to their families. Help us to appreciate the sacrifice of those who are willing to lay down their lives for their country.

Seal our hearts in humble servitude to our fellow citizens as we dedicate ourselves to emulating the self sacrifice for the good of future generations which is the legacy of the founders and the bedrock of the American Spirit.

We pray that you will guide our hands as we do all things in Your Name. Amen.
Please spend some time in prayer with loved ones today exercising your unalienable right to practice your religion openly here in the United States. Remember in prayer all those living under oppression who long for the opportunity to pray openly and freely worship their God.

May God bless you and your families. May God Bless America.
